"Get A Grip on Good Handwriting" Classes

Cedar Rapids Vision In Motion offers two handwriting programs to assist in the development of handwriting skills:

  • The Helping Hands Pre-Writing Class is intended for preschool age children (older 4 and 5 year olds), runs once a week starting Tuesday, Marcy 30 - May 4, from 6-7 p.m.
  • Handwriting Without Tears™ class is intended for children who are between 6-11 years old. Keep checking back for upcoming dates and times.

Location is at the Cedar Rapids Vision In Motion Clinic 3255 Williams Blvd SW, Cedar Rapids. Carrie Paulsen, OTR/L teaches the class.

Cost is $130 plus a $20 materials and workbook fee and is payable upon registration for the classes.

Indoor Bean Bag Tournament

Join us March 24-April 14, from 6-10 p.m. at Cocktails & Company, 1625 Blairsferry Rd, Marion IA, for our Indoor Bean Bag Tournament! Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Entry fee is $25 single/$50 double.

  • Cash Prizes = More teams, more money to give away (splitting ½ pot 65%, 25%, 10%)

Cedar Rapids Talent Fest

Be the Next Star! 3 chances to win!

Auditions start March 27 at Westdale Mall from 10 am-3 pm. Other Audition days at Westdale Mall from 10 am - 3 pm include: April 10, May 8, May 15, May 22, June 12, June 26 and July 10.

Call backs will be June 26 and July 4 during Freedom Festival. Entry fee is $50 per individual and $100 per group. Finale will be August 8 at Theatre Cedar Rapids!

  • Grand prize = $2500 and a commercial
  • 2nd place = $1,000
  • 3rd place = $500

Or, join the Video Competition. Entry fee is $25 and all entries must be postmarked by July 15. Five finalists will have their videos featured during the Finale, August 8.

  • 1st prize = $500
  • 2nd prize = $250
  • 3rd prize = $100

Also, your furry or scaly friend could be the first ever Mascot! The Mascot Competition will be at Westdale Mall, April 3, 10am-3pm. Entry fee is $15. Winner will receive $200!

  • Register 10-11:30 am
  • Strut your stuff on the "catwalk" 11:30 am - 2:30pm
  • Judging 2:30 pm

Low Vision Demonstrations

Do you have low vision needs and would you like to learn more how closed circuit televisions can help you with your daily living needs?

Stop by Cedar Rapids Vision In Motion located at 3255 Williams Blvd SW on every other Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and meet with Randy Domstrand from the Minneapolis based Allied Technology Store.  Randy is ready to show you a complete line of low vision aids.  For more information on when he will be available, call 319-364-2311 or email crvisioninmotion@gmail.com
